Parking at Lyme Cottage

Lyme Cottage is on a pedestrian terrace but there are three car parks within close proximity.
 

1. Monmouth Beach Car park (post code for your sat nav is DT7 3JJ)

This is the car park for the Cobb and is about a two or three minute walk down at the bottom of the hill. As of 2020 the rate was £1.40 an hour, overnight parking is free. There is an attendant during the day if you need to purchase multiple days parking in advance, otherwise you’ll need change for the ticket machine.

2. Undercliff car park

This is a private car park for the b&b in front of Lyme Cottage but can be booked in advance for your stay – please call to check availability. High season price as of 2023 summer season is £12 per day/£60 per week.

3. Holmbush car park (post code for your sat nav: DT7 3LD)

This is at the top of the hill. Cobb Road is fairly steep but if you’re feeling energetic then it’s only about a five minute walk from the cottage. At time of writing the cost is approx £1 an hour, with overnight parking free. You can pre-pay your ticket for the week, so no need to run up and down the hill every day to top it up.

Loading & unloading…

There is room to pull up by the gate to Cobb Terrace whilst loading/unloading your car – either on the opposite side of the road with two wheels on the pavement (there is a dip in the curb that facilitates this), or by the gate itself… see the photograph below.
