A gorgeous self catering holiday home in Lyme Regis
We’ve started to put together a list of some of the places that we love to eat at when we’re in Lyme… if you think we’ve made a mistake or missed anywhere fabulous then please do let us know so that we can make sure this page stays as useful and current as possible!
Probably worth mentioning that Lyme Regis tends to eat fairly early and that places do get booked up at the height of the season. If you wander in to town at 8 o’clock on a summer evening then you’ll probably be limited to an Indian (lovely though Lal Qilla is!).
Opposite the Harbour Inn, Marine Parade, Lyme Regis
Okay – so it’s not a restaurant – but it’s a real wood-fired sauna at the corner of sandy beach with great sea views. Booking essential!
29 Marine Parade, Lyme Regis, DT7 3JF
Great for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, coffee or a cocktail! And yes, we’ve tried all of the above (not on the same day!)… we really love it at Swim – the food is great with plenty of adult and kid-friendly options… and the service is always friendly.
Booking recommended, but walk-ins also possible out of peak season: 01297 442668

Great atmosphere and friendly service. It’s a working, open bakery serving freshly baked pastries, great coffee – with chefs on hand for made-to-order breakfast/brunch/lunch. Often quite a long queue for breakfasts so worth checking opening times and getting there early. Not possible to reserve.

Fantastic sourdough pizza with creative toppings – cooked in wood-fired ovens. Eat in if you can… lovely views across Lyme Bay and pizza’s never quite the same out of the box at home! Reservations required (*sometimes up to a week in advance in high season so perhaps give them a call the week before your holiday?).

Fish restaurant.
What to order: The crab sandwich and the cakes
“The crab sandwich is served in soft, thick-cut granary bread and is consistently fantastic. Homemade soups are also great, and the cakes are soft and gorgeous. This has always been more of a lunch than a dinner place for us…”
