A selection of comments left by some of our first lovely guests to stay at Lyme Cottage…

A delightful cottage with excellent location…

A delightful cottage with excellent location. It helped us all have a wonderful break because we were able to relax in the calm, well appointed living area.

The weather was superb and we thoroughly enjoyed the delights of Lyme Regis. The Town Mill Bakery and the Hix Restaurant added to our memorable experience.

Thank you again Sam for being so efficient and helpful. Best wishes.

The cottage was beautifully clean and fresh…

guest recommendation for Lyme Cottage

“The cottage was beautifully clean and fresh on our arrival and it was lovely to be greeted with a selection of eatable goodies, thank you.

We loved the proximity to the beach and town, brilliant for children when you are carrying lots of equipment to the beach. The walk up the hill and through the gardens to town was a delight, such gorgeous views!

We spent quite a lot of time on various beaches (!), walked up Golden Cap, ‘fossiled’ at Charmouth, visited Dorchester, went to the old fashioned cinema and had a trip to the swimming pool in Axminster on 1 of the only 2 rainy days we had during our 2 weeks. The rest of the time it was glorious sunshine.

Sam was very helpful and booking was very easy, all in all a lovely holiday. We love Lyme and will be back! Thank you.”

I would not hesitate to stay again…

We really liked the house. The accommodation and equipment were excellent and the welcome note was very useful. I am pleased I found the cottage – I would not hesitate to stay again and recommend to family and friends.

Brilliant central location…

We have loved discovering Lyme Regis for the first time. Our stay was made particularly comfortable by ‘Lyme Cottage’. We enjoyed the well thought out design of the house and brilliant central location. We will definitely be back.

I would highly recommend staying here…

“Spent a lovely long weekend at Lyme Cottage with family at the end of June and had a wonderful stay with all the mod cons you would expect and packaged nicely in a character property. The famously late British summer had just started and there was wall to wall sunshine the whole weekend. The French doors open out on the decking which leads on to the garden making the house feel very open and airy. The glass doors at the back also open out fully on to the internal courtyard which is a lovely evening suntrap. There were also lots of lovely touches such as a welcome hamper and dressing gowns.

I would highly recommend staying here if you want a relaxing and comfortable stay on the Dorset coast.”

Gorgeous cottage in a wonderful location…

“Gorgeous cottage in a wonderful location, right next to a sandy beach. Good base for exploring – we went to Axminster and the River Cottage restaurant, the Swannery and Subtropical Gardens in Abbotsbury and Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Great holiday.”

Lyme Cottage in the press

Lyme Cottage got an honorable mention by travel editor Katy Holland in Woman and Home magazine in 2019, and the renovation project at Lyme Cottage was recently featured in Latest Homes magazine…

“A panelled screen has been installed between the lounge and dining room giving the effect of the old stair that once stood there, and a glass link building formed between the rear out house and main house providing scope for a full bathroom and kitchen seating area. The glazed ‘outshut’ was also reinstated at the front of the house.”

“The clever kitchen design; parts of which tuck in under the stairs and incorporate areas of traditional panelling, sits in the centre of the house.”

“The refurbishment has just completed, and its Brighton based owner intends to use it for holiday rentals during the spring and summer months.”

“CDMS relished working on the project for the trips to Lyme Regis and crab sandwiches.”
